This video demonstrates the surgical technique for a Flexor Pronator Slide for a young girl with Spasticity. Spasticity can result from cerebral palsy, brain tumors, traumatic brain injury, and stroke. All of the flexor muscles are released from their origin, requiring a transposition of the ulnar nerve to prevent stretching of the nerve. Approximately 6 cm of lengthening are achieved, while still maintaining the contractile abilities of the forearm muscles. The procedure is technically challenging and requires release of all volar muscles to work successfully.
