ANATOMY OF PECTORALIS MINOR
Pectoralis minor is a thin triangular muscle in the upper part of chest situated beneath the pectoralis major muscle
It joins shoulder girdle to thorax
ORIGIN
From anterior surface of superior margins of 3 rd 4 th and 5 th ribs near the costal cartilage
INSERTION
Into the medial border of coracoid process of scapula
NERVE SUPPLY
Medial pectoral nerve(C8,T1)
ACTIONS
Stabilises the scapula
– Pulls anterior and inferior against the thoracic wall
Ligaments and muscles attached to coracoid process:
Ligaments
1.Coracoclavicular ligament
Conoid part-4.5 cm from acromio clavicular joint
Trapezoid part-3 cm from acromio clavicular joint
2.Coracoacromial ligament
3.Coracohumeral ligament
Muscles
1.Pectoralis Minor
2.Coracobrachialis
3.Short head of Biceps
