GANTZER’S MUSCLE
- Is an accessory head of flexor pollicis longus.
- Seen in about 60% of cadavers.
- ORIGIN : Is variable.
- INSERTION :Inserts distally into ulnar border of flexor pollicis longus.
- NERVE SUPPLY:Anterior interosseous nerve.
- Location of muscle in relationship to anterior interosseous nerve or median nerve is variable
- Gantzer’s muscle can be involved in compression neuropathy of either median nerve or anterior interosseous nerve.
