ABSTRACT
Understanding the language of electrodiagnosis is important for surgical decision making in nerve surgery. In this lecture, we will review several topics from the perspective from an electrodiagnostician for treatment of nerve injuries, which includes (1) localization, (2) identifying the characteristics of demyelination and axonal loss, (3) severity and prognosis, (4) Martin Gruber anastomosis, (5) donor health for nerve transfers, (6) recipient health for nerve surgery, and (7) post-surgical recovery.
